Roti Place
Malaysian. Roti. Crab. 🇲🇾🦀🦀
Roti Place is a great spot for one of those family-style Malaysian dinner where a buck load of dishes are spread out in the middle of the table and everyone just digs in.
They have a range of both classic Malaysian street food, like Mi Goreng & Nasi Lemak, as well as items that you can have with plain rice, like Nyonya Fish Curry.
We particularly like that they offer number of spanner crab dishes (Chilli Crab, Kam Heong, Ginger & Shallot), though we had the Butter & Curry leaves version based on their recommendation and boy the sauce was good - perfect for dipping with deep fried mantou, which we got as well. That’s probably their best selling point.
However, while their roti are flipped to order, we felt there was a lack of salty buttery flavour and flakiness. We tried two of their sweet roti as dessert and thought the fillings were too little. The dining space was also very tightly packed with chairs almost back to back with each other when both seated, making it slightly difficult to walk around.
All in all, still good place for a family feast & street food, and still one of the better Malaysian spots within the CBD.
